Story Behind the Craft

The spatial design language of Lavas' Wilderness Water collection draws influence from contemporary installation artist Es Devlin. Known for merging geometric form with natural environments, she gives abstract emotion a physical shape — creating a spatial atmosphere that holds both order and tension, both industrial coolness and a deep, poetic resonance. Her work inspired Lavas' own understanding and expression of the "wilderness" theme.

Lavas holds firmly to a modern naturalist philosophy: that nature is more than forests and lakes — it also includes landscapes shaped by time, like deserts, minerals, and glaciers. The wilderness is never empty; it holds within it a vitality longing to be reawakened. The crystal diffusers of Wilderness Water extend this idea through the language of installation art — reconstructing the wilderness world through the union of metal, mineral, and scent.

Handcrafted Brushed Metal Vessel

Each metal surface is finished using a hand-applied patina technique: the stainless steel is sprayed, then hand-brushed by artisans, leaving behind an irregular, organic texture.

LAVASTONE™ Ring Base

The base uses Lavas' signature LAVASTONE™ material, blending the texture of volcanic rock with quartz stone, preserving the raw, coarse surface of natural mineral.
